INTERACTIVE THEATRE FESTIVAL 2009
THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL INTERACTIVE THEATRE FESTIVAL IN ARMENIA - 22-26 SEPTEMBER, 2009 (YEREVAN, ARMENIA)
The first international
Interactive Art Festival 2009 (Interactive Theatre Festival) in Armenia was the
initiative of Hayk Sekoyan – the Executive and Creative Director of Theatre for
Changes NGO (the leading interactive theatre company in Armenia). The festival was
organized in Yerevan from 22-26 September 2009 with the support of Open Society
Foundations – Armenia and British Council and involved professional interactive
theatre artists from Armenia, Georgia, Turkey and the UK.
The festival served as a unique opportunity for interactive theatre artists to meet, collaborate, present interactive theatre plays, discuss innovative expressions and movements of interactive theatre and participate in a three day Forum Theatre training conducted by interactive theatre expert Caryne Chapman Clark from the UK.
Interactive Art Festival 2009 contributed a new vibe to the cultural life in Armenia as a unique cultural event and as a new form of social platform for promoting cultural dialogues. It was designed as a pilot project that will support the realization of a wider set of projects aimed at promoting interactive theatre in Armenia and internationally as a tool for social change.
